Who will win?
Deadliest Warriors, Shaolin Monks vs. Maori
I'm posting this one in advance.
Who do you think will be the.... DEADLIEST WARRIOR?
Shaolin Monks = The kick- ass kung- fu warriors of ancient China (GO MEH!)
Maori = The overly pierced New Zealand tribe...

Re: Deadliest Warriors, Shaolin Monks vs. Maori
O_O Shaolin Monks could beat anyone, they were some of the most powerful warroirs to ever walk the face of the earth, I've seen a guy that was with a monestary for only 6 years and he was able to take out about 5 guys in two minutes, and Most Monks train from the age of 5 tp 65. The Maori are simaler, their Fighting Style is less refine.

Re: Deadliest Warriors, Shaolin Monks vs. Maori
Yes you are completly right, shaolin monks are trained much harder, they get many bumps on their head when trying to build up head strength and can even achieve iron head kung-fu (to make the head as hard as iron).
Plus you can't pull a cheap shot on a Shaolin Monk because they now use a style call iron crotch kung-fu, which is extremely painful... I know the basic tiger style kung-fu form, and I'm hoping to learn drunken, baguazhang and 3 sectional staff (even though it's not gonna happen until about a year in trainning). ^^
I know a lot about Shaolin Monks. o.o
Wushu and Kung-fu

Re: Deadliest Warriors, Shaolin Monks vs. Maori
do you know anything about the way Maori fight?
i propose that you look it up because i cant be bothered explaining it to you
maori weapon most commonly used with a maori warrior is the Taiaha
its has a spear shaped head with a carving of a maori design face of with the tounge poking out as the spear at the other end it goes from being round into a flat shaped surface that is carved to be sharp
i apologise that it isnt a good picture maybe you will find better
The Maori Chief usually carried a personal designed and crafted Mere it is made from green stone (jade stone) and when used in battle is considered a very deadly weapon because it is extremely sharp and is sharpen to increase swiftness of the hit when used.
these were the only two weapons i was allowed to be trained with when i was 15 because that was considered the age of man hood.
maori strategy is based on his knowing of the land (because maori are hunter/gatherers they lived from the land and the land provided much)
in world war 1 when NZ was called by Great Britain to fight in their war NZ sent over the Maori battalion at that time the maori were still adjusting to the european people being in NZ and were sent off to a war that the Maori King only agreed to to keep good faith between her majesty Queen Elizabeth and the Maori people of NZ but unfortunately the Maori battalion was put on the front line in one of the many battles performing their Haka (war dance) to strike fear in the hearts of those that oppose... look it up to know more as i cant be bothered typing any more...
im not going to compare Shaolin Monks to Maori warriors because both are strong in there own ways and it would be impossible to imagin a fight between the two.

Re: Deadliest Warriors, Shaolin Monks vs. Maori
Nice backing the Maori! ^^
Anyway the Maori spear looks a lot like the chinese spear xD: Yeah, notice the strings at the end of the spear... I don't know about your people but my people (the monks), used the strings at the end so when we stabbed an opponent the blood (of the opponent) wouldn't get into our eyes. Lol it's gonna be cool comparing the two together. o.o
Anway here are some pictures of shaolin monks weapons and all basic wushu (kungfu) weaponry.

Re: Deadliest Warriors, Shaolin Monks vs. Maori
at the spear head yeah thats what the feathers/string is there for but on the Taiaha it also has a flat bottom that is made very thin so it is able to cut like a blade (cant really tell in the pic but it there)
i like the weopons of shaolin monks though there is quite a variety ^^

Re: Deadliest Warriors, Shaolin Monks vs. Maori
wow
Shaolin monk won.
pity that only those 4 weapons were brought out and i agree
the Taiaha and Mere are the best weapons that the maori warrior uses.
too bad there wasnt much on hand to hand combat -.-
but i will say both the Shaolin monk and Maori warrior are 2 types that no one should mess with..

I have to say that the Maori were way more tougher than I thought, I say it was a really good battle. ^^
