Mothers Day

I want to know what everyone did for Mothers day!

what did you do for Mothers Day?
how did you celebrate Mothers Day?

anyway ill tell you about my Mothers Day


i had just finished work and on the way home from work i pre- ordered from a flower and gift store that is close to my house an assorted arrangement of flowers that had a great colour scheme to it and a jumbo size teddy bear ^__^ i got home and got ready to go over to my mums to make her break fast in bed and to take her the gifts i had gotten her.
i got to my mums place i started cooking breakfast for her ( bacon, waffles, eggs, a light salad with french dressing and a big pancake as a base for it all to sit on in the plate(its my trademark breakfast)) anyway i knock on her door open it and place it on her dressing table. pulled out the breakfast tray so it sat on top of her went back to get the presents.. put the flowers in a vase on her dresser, the teddy bear sat next to her in bed and put break fast in front of her with a glas of freshly squeezed orange juice and waiting for her was a tea pot of her favourite tea.
it took her an hour to wake up so everything was cold by the time she ate it but she was greatfull for breakfast and the flowers, i put on her favourite mixed CD (that i made for her last mothers day) and then went home ^___^ a good day for my mum she calls me up and says thank you thank you thank you !!! lol

I bought my mom a card from papyrus (expensive o.O) and wrote a poem I thought up of and gave the combo of them together to my mom.

i knew someone would make a threa about mothers day... -.-
i hate that day....
mostly its total crap... every year this day gets annoying...

if even the slightest thing on that day... at the morning doesnt work...
my mom gets pissed off for the whole day.. or even the next day too.... not talking with me a word...

i bought her 2 days before a lil flower in a bucket.. with dekoration and stuff... it looked totally cute...
i planned to make breakfast... and giving the present to her afterwards....
in the evening making dinner...

well....
what did she do?... got up way too early.... and started to make breakfast herself... my dad got up too some time later...
there already the bad part started.... normally on normal days... she makes breakfast... and calls me out of bed....
this time she totally ignored my existence... breakfasting without me... and then leaving home at all with my dad to my grandma....
telling nothing to me about anything....
well.. me and my bf got up... ... got breakfast... and i placed the present on the table ... so when they return.. she instantly sees it...
well... they came back... no "hi" no nothing...
ignoring the present... ignoring us...
i myself got pissed of this attitude too...
not speaking a word with each other at all ...
then i at least wanted to make dinner... well.. me and my bf... prepared it....
then we all sat down at the table... watching tv...
noone speaking with each other...
in the end she at least thanked me for preparing the dinner...
...
now im here...

i hate mothersday... >_>

seeing that your mum didnt acknowledge the fact that you were giving her a gift and its never the gift that counts its always the thought but not acknowledging that? that is pure ebil >.<

Wow kiri...that is a bad mothers day...I just went out to dinner and grew my mother flowers(well..started 3 weeks ago).

Oh rly I grew a strawberry plant a year ago for mothers day. But it's dead now. Q~Q

uhm NR usually when you plant something you need to know how to look after it maybe thats why it is dead -.-

Sometimes they last a 1 1/2. They're seasonal plants.

i think my mom expects way too much of me....

mm i understand where your coming from Kiri, you may try hard to please your mom and it may not work but at least you know in your heart that you tried so you shouldnt feel that you owe her more than what youve given.
yeah it would have been easier when you were younger because there was no expectation from your mom at that stage i think..

I did everything in the house, all the errands and such. I cooked, I made breakfast, I washed etc... along with my brothers, that is.
That was my present to her... along with a kiss and a big smile ^^

Meh, I also dislike holidays like this. It seems like it would mean so much more if you randomly gave your mother a gift, or your father, or your loved one x.x Whatever

Nonetheless, I went to my mother's house and planted an Azalea bush (It's called an Encore I think, supposed to bloom through Spring, Summer and Fall instead of just a few weeks)
My father and brothers and I made her breakfast, then went to my grandmother's house and had a nice family outing thingy. All the men grilled and played with the young ones while the mothers stayed inside and relaxed. Pretty cliche Mother's Day I guess.

Then I went to my friend's house, helped him paint his mom's bedroom, and went to the bars with their family.

aww Kiri i think over time it will just be considered another day so you will forget about being angry about it ^__^
in the mean time be happy that your family is good and well!

afterall you can tell your mum how much you love her every other day of the year not necessarily on this one day... ( does anyone know the history on Mothers day? how it came to be this specific day? i originally thought it was a marketing scam... )

I guess after you pass 18 it doesn't matter much anymore... on that day... unless your a failure to launch xD
