MAME
Well, I was playing with my brother earlier on it, a game called Kabuki Clash, pretty good at my point.
Anyway do you guys know where can I download the latest mame release, roms and how to make it work? Because I downloaded the latest release at www.mame.net and I just can't figure it out.
Thanks in advance

i havent played MAME games for nearly 10 years lol
if it were me looking for it i would google it lol just using keywords so you end up with the result that you want ^___^
other than that i dont really know any good sites that have these anymore.. if you havent found a site by the time i get home ill have a look ^__^
MAME plays games from the old gameboy to the old sega using ROMS with the game on it (i remember playing alot of games my parents would have played when they were young on it lol)

Re: MAME
lol it may have been the same or another version of the same game because they do remakes of games for NES and SNEW emulators aswell as the MAME emulator tho having a variety of games is always good ^^
i dont think MAME can do all the SNES/NES games like: megaman, pokemon, Digimon, legend of Lufia etc etc..
but as i said gotta look for them because there are so many different types of roms for for different emulators but it may be the same game lol

Re: MAME
well when ive used emulators... PSx,nes, snes.... there was always this line where FILE etc.. was standing.... so yeah...
and when you click on it... you choose in the context menu that you want to open a file...
sometimes its called ISO (different programs)
so yeah... then you need to brows through your PC-files finding the correct file of your wished game... then you open it.... and then it usually starts....
but before make sure you have set your configuration right as you would search for correct keys...
but yeah... if it doesnt work at all...
maybe there is something wrong with the file... corrupt or what ever...
sometimes its the file type that is the problem... bla

Re: MAME
yup ^_^
using the orginal game file (not a save file or snap shot)
draging it over the emulator will open the emulator with the game you dragged over it..
its like sticking a game cartridge in a game boy except you dont see the game boy or the cartridge its all files and programs hehe ^___^

Re: MAME
(i didnt know that that could work with messengers o.o)
lol it was the first thing i noticed about emulators when i used to play Pokemon Yellow 5/6 years ago lol
and then i realised that they could be opened from the emulator itself lol (and then i found out that you didnt have to save it in game because there was a snap shot feature that saves the position of the screen and if you were to open it it will take you to the exsact position you took the snap shot on ^__^)
crazy stuff eh lol

Re: MAME
O.O
you still havent played the sailormoon game?
unzip the folders
drag the sailor moon file onto the Snez9x program or open it and look for it?
it should work like any other emulated game (i havent tried it on NES because i use SNES lol)

Re: MAME
The problem is this:
I currently have MAME32, which is what I've been playing, but it's files are totally different from the ones I've downloaded in the latest release. Furthermore, I find no place to place the roms and no program thats searches for all the roms inside like MAME32. So, I'm a bit confused and have'nt really foun any guides that actually help to understand what to do.

Re: MAME
you arnt able to add the downloaded files to the same folder the MAME32 files are?
maybe you need to download the latest MAME32 as these roms might not be compatible with your version of it..
or it might not be the full file (corrupt)

Re: MAME
Ok, I think I worked it out. I needed to download the binary codes, which I didn't do cause i thought they were the same as the source codes. Now downloading and searching for roms.
Anyway, thanks for your help ^^

Re: MAME
oh... you are unable to save the game in the game?
or you cant save a snapshot? (so the game takes you back to the position you save it at)

Re: MAME
lol
i just know that on psx emulator ... you can save just by pressing F1 .... and come back to the last save point with F3.... while you can change saving slots with F2....
when i tried to do save with F1 on sailor moon game... it said the file doesnt exist or something like that...
guess there is something wrong with it
