Character Creation Guidelines

When you are trying to get a character accepted, you have to put the name of your character as the name of the topic. These characters have nothing to do with your TNR-account, but you can do pretty much any kind of character you want.

This is just a suggestion, but if you are new to RPing, your first character should not be that strong. Just so you learn to play without godmodding etc.

This is the template for your character:
(Note that these are the least information you should give. You don't have to use the template as long as these information are there in some form)

Name: (First name and surname, if your character has one... Even a nickname would be ok if your character doesn't have a real name.)

Age: (Please be reasonable with this. :P)

Gender: (Female or male... No exceptions.)

Village: (There are total of 6 villages in 6 different countries: Ekishou, Gesshoku, Taiyou, Shuiro, Koori and Toukai. Your character can also be an outlaw without a village. There is also a village that is completely run by outlaws: Higure. The country itself is very unstable.)

Family: (Any relatives? Not necessarily bound by blood)

Rank: (Academy Student, Genin, Chuunin, Special Jounin, Jounin, Kage. Lowest to highest in that order. Note that Jounin can be as strong as Kage, but are still just Jounin because someone else is the Kage. Also if your character is in any faction, name it and tell his/her position in it.
Outlaw's ranks are: D-, C-, B-, A- and S-rank)

Bloodline: (If your character has a bloodline, describe what it's like. What are its weaknesses and strengths? What does it give? Etc. Yes you can come up with your own bloodline, but please try not to make a new bloodline with every character. You can also use the same bloodline as someone else has if you ask a permission for that first.)

Personality: (What is you characters personality like? Please be as descriptive as possible and try to write long texts)

Appearance: (Also here, try to write as long as possible and describe your characters appearance as well as you can. Also describe what weapons your character has and where they are hidden, if they are.)

The past: (How has you character come to where s/he is now? How was his/her past like? This should be kind of like a small story. At least longer than the previous texts.)

Strengths and weaknesses: (List here your characters strengths and weaknesses. How is s/he like in a battle? What is his/her speciality? Etc.)

Jutsus: (You have to write the name of the jutsu and description on what exactly it does, and also what happens and what are its effects. Jutsus have to be well described and reasonable to be accepted. Remember that it's rare for one character to be able to use 3 or more elements.
Replacement-, Clone- and Transformation technique don't count as jutsus, because everyone knows them by default. Of course Academ Students aren't that good with them.
Academy Students get 2 jutsus max, Genins 5 jutsus max, Chuunins 7 jutsus max, Special Jounins 10 jutsus max, Jounins 16 jutsus max and kage 20 jutsus max
For outlaws: D-ranks get 6 jutsus max, C-ranks 8 jutsus max, B-ranks 12 jutsus max, A-ranks 18 jutsus max and S-ranks 20 jutsus max
If someone has already a similar jutsu to what you're trying to get accepted: If the person doesn't complain about it, then it will be accepted.)



After you have written your character application and posted it, wait for a global mod or RP mod to accept it (Most likely will be Tenrai)

I think the best way for jutsu limitation is to give each rank a top ammount of jutsus they can use. For example 3 jutsus for academy students, 6 jutsus for genins, 10 jutsus for chuunins 16 jutsus for jounins and 20 jutsus for special jounins. I'm thinking about the Naruto series when I made up those jutsu limitations ^^ The most jutsus I've seen there with one person is around 14-18.

nope... we dont mean in-game...
this is a free RP... everyone can invent their own jutsu...
though it should be controlled that those are not god-like jutsu

i think this jutsu limitation is a good idea.. though the numbers need to be tweaked a bit


and i think strengths and weaknesses need to get limited too

About strengths and weaknesses... how about this... As many strengths as a character has, they must also have as many weaknesses... And if there are too many strengths, then there must be one MAJOR weakness.

Maybe we should ask Ryuku for the specifics.

I only copy some of the Jutsu's in-game.

P.S @Tenrai: Special-Jounin only have 3 Ninjutsu, 1 Genjutsu and I forgot how many Taijutsu.

a weakness can also be an elemental weakness...
like if a water based character has lightning/thunder as weakness, and snow against fire...... or something along those lines

I HATE the entire fill-in-the-blank character creation set-up. I recommend no one uses this type of thing for their first role-play.

If you want the RP section of this board with limited members to flourish, drop the template. Make it very big, very generic, and very open-ended.

I agree with Keta a little, but there has to be some kind of example so that people won't send characters that lack crucial information. He should add there that it is just a recommendation to add all those things into the character info, not something that is a must.

No i didn't take it from TNF o.o I took it from an old RPG I use to own, back before I even knew TNF existed >.>

All aplications made will be deleted and you have to make a new one... Also your apliacation is not really good... It's not your TNR character. You have to come up with a name and other stuffs. Also this doesn't have much to do with TNR (talking about jutsus). Well I'll write guidelines today...
