Project Gaia: making of the RP Map

Map-000: Prototype


This is our Present map for the RP, this is going to change very soon, but only boder wise (most of the time*), as to make room for the new countrys. New maps will be added as new Contrys are added, and all maps will be visable for review and suggestions. Anyway, my question to you all is, is there anyone here that either has a program, or the skills, to add detail and terrans to the Finished Product?

P.S. do you guys want to name the World (Continent?), or do you just want go with "Earth"?

*areas may be readjusted, or areas added or removed to fit needs, but these will be minor and few

i found a map generator when we first discussed the makings of the map and found that it was too complicated for me to use -.-
i googled it and it was the first hit (as i dont have it anymore lol)

i was how ever looking at trying out a "age of empires"/ "warcraft 3" map generator but didnt think on how it will be displayed later so i scratched that.. i think ill have a look at game creation forums and see what i can dig up otherwise i know that there is software that can be purchased but again it could be too complicated for me to use lol

Thanks for the help Max, I'll help by looking around for some stuff as well. Even if you find somthing that is too diffuclet for you, post it and see if there is anyone it works with.

could you give me a link to that map generator you found back then??
maybe someone else is capable in using it...

anyway.. i dont know if i would be skilled enough to make a map with PS...
but i could try... the only problem is...
that i barely have time... and rather use this time with rather... fun stuff XD

lol, right now we are just recruiting people to do so, the the actual work will come later, once the Map is finalized and such.

I could add color and some map terrain detail, but it would still look very 2D if you know what I mean. Also I'm vacationing in florida and I only have a laptop with a limited connection, so I can't even start until Saturday. But so far it looks really decent. I've been wondering about the possibilities of joining other villages and traveling, so this is really neat.

i dont think we will be finishing with the basics of creating a map till it is read to be starting the colorizing till satureday anyway...

a 3d map generator im playing with at the moment..
needs to be downloaded tho (i suggest putting a virus scanner through it just incase)

i havent used them or tried to use them but thought if someone had skill they could give it an attempt.. (when downloading will need to use a virus scanner just in case)

im still looking for other types of map generators like for warcraft etc

it would be in detail lol i havent read anything to see if they had a playfield view..
i still want to find the warcraft map editor lol
but yeah if i could find a playfield that would be awesome XD

im not sure if 3D would be that awesome...
though... im also not sure how it would look like

neither because i think it would be more suitable for a game if it were 3d but i think that the tile set would be best for this.

this is a warcraft 3 map i am using as an example it has no relation to our map for the RP but i want to use the same program (warcraft 3 map editor to make this map) because it looks freaking awesome lol

Thats exsacly what I was amagining lol, though we'd have to find a way to scale it to size, if that's WoW, then it's no more that 1 or 2 miles that are shown, We are gona need to make it several dozen and hundreds. If this is not able to be done, then we can always fall back on a Smiple detail map.

this is warcraft 3 not WoW and i dont have the program that makes these maps lol ive just been pulling pics off google lol but i think it wouldnt be difficult to use this program for the mapping of the world of RP lol

im gunna get a hold of the game and see if i can attempt to do this mapping and see how it looks ^__^
