PS3 slim

the new version of the PS3 was shown to the public



its smaller and weights less... the name already indicates it...
it comes along with 120GB
makes less noise
and is faster...

but you cant install linus onto it... as well as PS2 games are not able to be played on it...

some plug(s) changed... either changed to something else or removed/added...

it going to replace the old PS3 out of the market...


etc...
anyway... talk about it here...

You can install linus on the fat one too, I already have the fat one so...not getting this xD I wont deny that the slim might be a bit better though, faster? I would have to see for myself, sony says a lot of things...

The real reason why this ps3 slim is a good idea to buy is the price, 120GB for only $299.

Ah sorry, misread. Its no big deal anyway since linux on your ps3 really isn't anything special for the trouble you go through to get it on there.

Your correct that the fat ones are also available for $299 but thats only the 80GB one, while the slim is 120GB for that price.

did the fat one play ps2 and ps games or is it only that the slim one plays them?

Currently all fat ps3 sold don't play ps2 games, and neither will the slim. The VERY old ps3's did however...

Though sony patented a ps2 emulation method that could make it possible through a firmware but they are too lazy to use it >_>

the fat one was able to do so... (not all)
